    Laser welding is an efficient and precise welding method using high energy density laser beam as heat source. Laser welding is one of the important aspects in the application of laser material processing technology. In the 1970s, it is mainly used to weld thin-walled materials and low-speed welding. The welding process belongs to heat conduction type, that is, laser radiation heating workpiece surface. The surface heat diffuses to the interior through heat conduction. By controlling the laser pulse width, energy, peak power and repetition rate, the workpiece melts and forms a specific melting pool. Due to its unique advantages, it has been successfully applied to the precision welding of micro and small parts.

     The laser welding in China is at the advanced level in the world. It has the technology and ability to use laser forming more than 12 square meters of complex titanium alloy components, and has been put into the prototype and product manufacture of many domestic aviation scientific research projects. In October 2013, Chinese welding experts won the highest academic award-Brooke Award in the field of welding, and the level of laser welding in China was recognized by the world.
