    1. High precision lost foam casting is a new process with near no allowance and precise forming. This process does not need to take mould, no parting surface, no sand core, so the casting has no flange, burr and die drawing inclination. The size error caused by core combination is reduced. The surface roughness of castings can reach Ra3.2 to 12.5 μ m, the dimensional precision of castings can reach to CT7 to 9, and the machining allowance is up to 1.5 to 2mm, which can greatly reduce the cost of machining. Compared with the traditional sand casting method, it can reduce the machining room by 40% to 50%. 

    2. The flexibility of design provides a sufficient degree of freedom for structural design of castings. The highly complex castings can be produced by the combination casting of foam plastic molds.

    3. Without the sand core in the traditional casting, the wall thickness of the traditional sand mold casting is not uniform because the size of the sand core is not correct or the position of the lower core is not accurate. 

    4. There is no chemical binder in clean production molding sand. Foam plastic is harmless to the environment at low temperature. The recovery rate of old sand is more than 95%.

    5. Reduce investment and production cost to reduce the weight of casting blank, machining allowance is small. Lost foam casting process, like other casting processes, has its shortcomings and limitations, Not all castings are suitable for EPC production. Consider whether to use this process. 1. The larger the batch size of castings, the more economic benefit. 2. The order of good and poor applicability of casting material is: Gray cast iron, non-ferroalloy, ordinary carbon steel, ductile iron, low carbon steel and alloy steel; through necessary preparation, the debugging period is too long. 3. The casting size mainly considers the scope of use of the corresponding equipment (such as vibrating table, sand box). 4. 4. The more complex the structure of castings, the more the advantages and economic benefits of lost foam casting process can be reflected.
