    In order to ensure the quality of die processing and meet the requirements of die processing performance, precision die processing processes generally include forging, cutting, heat treatment and so on. 

    The requirements of precision die machining for materials are as follows: the material should have good forgability, annealing technology, machinability, hardening, hardenability and grinding ability, at the same time, it should have small oxidation, decarbonization sensitivity and quenching deformation and cracking tendency.

    1. The forgability has low resistance to hot forging deformation, good plasticity, wide range of forging temperature, low tendency of forging cracking, cold cracking and precipitating reticular carbides. 

    2. The annealing process spheroidization annealing temperature range is wide, the annealing hardness is low and the fluctuation range is small, and the spheroidization rate is high.

     3. Large cutting parameters, low tool loss and low surface roughness.

    4, oxidation, decarbonization sensitivity, high temperature heating oxidation resistance, decarbonization rate is slow, not sensitive to the heating medium, the tendency to produce small points. 

    5. After quenching, it has uniform and high surface hardness. 

    6. After hardenability quenching, a deeper hardened layer can be obtained, and the hardened layer can be hardened by using a mild quenching medium. 

    7. The grinding wheel has low relative loss, high grinding quantity without burn limit, insensitive to grinding wheel quality and cooling conditions, and is not easy to produce grinding injury and grinding crack. 

    8. The tendency of quenching deformation and cracking is small change of conventional quenching volume, warping of shape, slight distortion and low tendency of abnormal deformation. Conventional quenching cracking is less sensitive to quenching temperature and workpiece shape.
